Inter/Transdisciplinary Assessment Project:

change through environmentalism

Change is a conversion, transformation, or movement from one form, state, or value to another. Inquiry into the concept of change involves understanding and evaluating causes, processes, and consequences.

Our unit will be focusing on change through the lens of environmentalism.

Students will explore how water, wildfires, and animal production impact changes in the environment.

Students will present a social media post on Instagram that includes a visual component, statistical information, and argumentative writing that will then be shared via a gallery walk.

Example 1

Example 2

Example 3

  • Inquiry questions

    • How does the environment change over time?

    • How does the environment affect us?

    • How do we affect the environment?

    • How do you argue effectively for environmental change?

    • What are the best techniques to make a sustainable environment?

Summative Assessment:

According to knowledge aquired in their Ag class about environmental change over time, students will create an effective argument on the best techniques to create a sustainable environment. Students will create an Instagram post that includes a graphic artwork that represents how the environment affects us and how we affect the environment. The Instagram post will also include images of statistics that are evidence for the best techniques to make a sustainable environment. In the Instagram caption, students will use their argumentative writing skills to argue effectively for the environmental change they wish to see to make a sustainable environment.
